National Portrait Gallery London Photographic portrait prize winner 2007
Richard Boll graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art with a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography in 1999. After graduating he divided his time between teaching the technical aspects of photography to degree students and working as a freelance editorial and commercial photographer London.
Working in London and the South East, he works in the fields of still life, product photography portraiture and architecture. With his experience in tailoring photography to the needs of his clients he consistently produces fresh and evocative images.
In 2004 he won the Audi / Next Level Award for contemporary photography and in 2006 he won the National Portrait Gallery Photographic Prize.
Highlights from 2007 included a commission to photograph David Attenborough for the National Portrait Gallery, and the opening show of the Focus Contemporary Gallery in Cape Town. He currently has a portrait in the 2007 National Portrait Gallery prize exhibition.
